TPG also is a backer of Uber cars. Now, no doubt, the Marriott braintrust has had this on their radar for months and has an effective counter strategy, if even necessary. Successful use of the funding though, could make Airbnb a significant issue in lodging choices, especially for the much beloved target audience, whose name will go unmentioned
