This year's analysis presumes a 5-night stay between August 10-15 at any/all hotels within Illinois and a second stay between Jan 11-16.
Major observations (based on averages):
- Five more hotels in 2014 versus 2013
- An upward shift in categories making more venues more expensive on points
- Cat 2 & 7 have one or more venues with reduced point specials - hence, not perfectly rounded
- Dollar cost has actually decreased year over year
- Ironically, because of bullet #4, point value has decreased as average cost per night has decreased, consequently -->
Overall, 88.20 points per dollar in 2014 whereas 102.30 points per dollar in 2013
Because of seasonal rate changes, point values change throughout the year
