Not too long ago someone posted here that Marriott do not match status for other hotel members, unlike most other hotel chains.
Today I had a friend asking me if he could match his HH diamond status to Marriott platinum? He also mentioned that when he called customer service he was told that Marriott do not offer any status match, but when I called today (spoke to the UK customer service) I was told that Marriott do offer that but when I was told about it I realized they changed it with a 'slight twist'. Here is the email confirmation I got - judge for yourself:

As per our telephone conversation herewith the parameters with which we offer a Status Match:
In order to match your status, we require an overview of the activity with the other hotel loyalty program. If you could please provide us with a statement from the other hotel chain account that lists the stays you had in the last 12 months, we would then be able to offer a status match according to our elite membership requirements:
10 nights Silver
50 nights Gold
75 nights Platinum
Please send us detailed screenshots with the list of all the stays, one by one, with check-in and check-out dates. As soon as we receive the required documentation we will process the status match and you can begin to make your reservations.
