Here in LA (southern CA) and environs, the average price of gasoline is nearing 5 bucks a gallon. At COSTCO it's still $4.07 and the line looks like a per-hurricane rush at a southern seaport. So the public should be off the roads, storming the Hybrid car salerooms, getting in line for a bus ride, breaking out the bikes, etc. Nah, business and traffic as usual! Huge land yachts cruising the always congested freeways, parking lots at malls filled to the brim, life is unaffected.
So what if there are going to be nine categories of hotels? With gas at this price and no one seeming to care, the chances that most of us will not be using points seem very remote.
